On March 18, a "cloud signing" ceremony was held for the key demonstration project of 700 TEU-class Yangtze River mainline electric container ship supported by CALB, which is a national green zero-carbon key demonstration project jointly undertaken by CALB, China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company and other enterprises. 

The project is equipped with a replaceable marine container-type battery designed and developed by CALB as the power source, with a power exchange mode to achieve pure electric navigation in the whole journey. This is the first demonstration pilot of purely electric ships in the Yangtze River basin with the power exchange mode, which is conducive to addressing the challenges of pollution and ecological environmental protection of Yangtze River shipping, featuring remarkable social and environmental effects.
